Morre Dalton Trevisan, lenda da literatura brasileira

Autor de mais de 50 livros, vencedor dos prêmios Camões, o mais importante da língua portuguesa, e Jabuti, morreu nesta segunda-feira (9) o escritor curitibano Dalton Trevisan, aos 99 anos de idade. O escritor também recebeu, em 2011, o Prêmio Machado de Assis pelo conjunto da sua obra, a maior honraria em literatura nacional. Ao final da vida, Dalton Trevisan vivia recluso. Sempre foi avesso aos holofotes e não dava entrevistas desde os anos 70. Ele vivia em um apartamento no centro de Curitiba, cidade que era o tema principal de sua obra, que narra a vida cotidiana na capital paranaense numa linguagem concisa e direta, sempre retratando costumes e dramas psicológicos de seus personagens. Formado em Direito, iniciou a carreira com a novela Sonata ao Luar, quando ganhou destaque, mas sua obra mais conhecida foi o livro de contos O Vampiro de Curitiba, de 1965. Sua obra foi traduzida em diversos idiomas. Nos anos de 1946 a 1948, Dalton editou a revista Joaquim, publicação com a participação de Maria de Andrade e Carlos Drummond de Andrade. A residência onde morou em Curitiba, na esquina das ruas Ubaldino do Amaral e Amintas de Barros, no Alto da Glória, é um dos pontos turísticos de Curitiba visitada pelos amantes da literatura.
Índio Coxiponé Pescador

Localizada na Avenida Fernando Corrêa da Costa, em Cuiabá, a imponente estátua de um índio em uma canoa, segurando vários peixes, é um tributo à memória e à cultura da tribo Coxiponé, da etnia Bororo. Esta homenagem celebra os primeiros habitantes da região, cuja presença remonta a tempos anteriores à chegada dos bandeirantes, que desbravaram o território movidos pela busca do ouro. Os Coxiponés, hábeis navegadores do rio Coxipó, não apenas deram nome à região, mas também deixaram um legado cultural profundamente conectado com as águas e os recursos naturais que sustentavam sua existência. A canoa, símbolo de mobilidade e sobrevivência, e os peixes, representando abundância e harmonia com o meio ambiente, reforçam a ligação dos Bororo com o rio que moldou suas vidas. A estátua não apenas eterniza essa história, mas convida os transeuntes a refletirem sobre a rica herança indígena da região e sua importância na construção da identidade cuiabana. Em sua simplicidade e força, a escultura resgata um passado muitas vezes silenciado, mas fundamental para compreender a essência cultural e histórica de Cuiabá e de Mato Grosso.
Estudantes de escolas públicas não têm acesso a água tratada para consumo

Com Mariana Tokarnia – Repórter AB No Brasil, 1,4 milhão de estudantes de escolas públicas não têm acesso a água tratada para consumo. A maioria desses alunos é negra, segundo o estudo Água e Saneamento nas Escolas Brasileiras: Indicadores de Desigualdade Racial, que utilizou dados do Censo Escolar de 2023. A pesquisa destaca que alunos em escolas predominantemente negras têm sete vezes mais chances de não contar com água potável em comparação a escolas de predominância branca. Entre os 1,2 milhão de estudantes sem acesso básico à água, 768,6 mil estão em escolas predominantemente negras, 528,4 mil em escolas mistas e 75,2 mil em escolas brancas. Além da água, a análise abrange outros serviços de saneamento, como banheiros, coleta de lixo e esgoto. Mais da metade dos estudantes de escolas predominantemente negras enfrentam a falta de pelo menos um desses itens, enquanto nas escolas brancas, esse índice é de 16,3%. Outro dado alarmante revela que 440 mil estudantes frequentam escolas sem banheiros. Desses, 135,3 mil estão em escolas predominantemente negras. No que diz respeito à coleta de lixo, 2,15 milhões de alunos frequentam escolas sem o serviço, sendo a maioria em instituições de predominância negra. O estudo também chama atenção para a situação dos estudantes indígenas. Dos 360 mil matriculados na rede pública, 60% estão em escolas sem abastecimento de água e 81,8% em unidades sem esgoto. Por fim, o levantamento reforça a importância de políticas públicas que considerem as desigualdades raciais para garantir a equidade no acesso a saneamento, tanto nas escolas quanto fora delas. Atualmente, milhões de brasileiros ainda carecem de serviços básicos, como abastecimento de água e coleta de esgoto, afetando diretamente a dignidade e a qualidade de vida.
A aterrorizante lenda do Minhocão do Pari
Uma das lendas mais conhecidas em Cuiabá, o “Minhocão” aterrorizou ribeirinhos que acreditavam que a cobra gigante vivia nas profundezas do Rio Cuiabá e, vez ou outra, virava barcos para devorar os pescadores, levantava grandes ondas e desmoronava barrancos dos rios. A lenda teria surgido após o padre Ernesto Barreto comprar um grande terreno onde hoje está localizado a Barra do Pari, em 1880. Os moradores mais antigos das terras de padre Ernesto, nos fundos dos Bairros Santa Amália e Araçá, dizem que o Minhocão do Pari desapareceu da região durante a grande enchente de 1974. Reza uma das mais famosas lendas cuiabanas que não se pode reformar ou restaurar a igreja matriz da capital de Mato Grosso, já que o minhocão encontra-se preso pelos fios de cabelo de Nossa Senhora. Há ainda o “Minhocão de Baús”, “irmão do Minhocão do Pari”, e que teria surgido no século 19, que habitava a região da Guia e que destruía as casas da região, fazia muito rebojo nas águas e metia medo nos habitantes. A lenda é retratada no livro “Ana Bela e o Minhocão de Baús”, de autoria do historiador Pedro Félix. ‘Baús’ é uma comunidade de pequenos agricultores de milho, cana-de-açúcar, mandioca, extrativistas de pequi, que vivem em casas de pau a pique e sobrevivem culturalmente de lendas, rezas e plantas medicinais. “Em 1983 descobrimos um grande resgate da nossa cultura quando, ao conhecer a comunidade de Baús, nos deparamos com as estórias dos moradores. Conforme a lenda, o minhocão teria devorado a casa de um senhor que dormia com a escrava e que teria sido alertado por ela sobre a existência de algum bicho que rondava o local”, conta Pedro Félix. O livro é direcionado a alunos do ensino infantil e fundamental das escolas públicas e particulares de Cuiabá, para a cuiabania em geral ou quem tiver interesse em saber mais sobre essa lenda.

Compositor e maestro Marlos Nobre morre aos 85 anos

O pianista, maestro e compositor pernambucano Marlos Nobre morreu aos 85 anos na noite da última segunda-feira (2). A família do maestro optou por não informar a causa da morte. Ele deixa viúva e uma filha. Marlos iniciou seus estudos musicais no Recife, aos 5 anos de idade, no Conservatório Pernambucano de Música. Nobre foi o primeiro brasileiro a reger a Royal Philarmonic Orchestra de Londres, em 1990. Ele também foi regente de várias outras orquestras: Orchestre Philharmonique de l’ORTF em Paris; l´Orchestre de la Suisse Romande; l’Orchestre de l’Opéra de Nice, France; Orquesta Filarmónica del Teatro Colón, em Buenos Aires; Orquesta Sinfónica no México; Orquesta Sinfónica de Cuba. Foi professor visitante da Universidade Yale, da Juilliard School, da University of Texas e da Indiana University. Suas obras são publicadas pelas editoras Max Eschig (Paris), Boosey & Hawkes (Inglaterra) e Marlos Nobre Edition (Rio de Janeiro). Nobre dirigiu o Instituto Nacional de Música da Fundação Nacional das Artes (Funarte), em 1976. Presidiu o Conselho Internacional de Música da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (Unesco), em Paris, entre 1985 e 1987. Em 1988, passou a dirigir a Fundação Cultural de Brasília. Ocupa a cadeira nº 1 da Academia Brasileira de Música e é diretor musical e regente titular da Orquestra Sinfônica do Recife. Em 2005, recebeu por unanimidade o Prêmio Tomás Luís de Victoria da Sociedad de Derechos de Autor (SGAE), em Madrid, Espanha, concedido por unanimidade pela primeira vez em sua história. Na entrega do prêmio, foi lançado na Espanha o livro Marlos Nobre: El sonido del realismo mágico, de Tomás Marco, editado pela Fundación Autor de Madrid. A viúva do maestro, Maria Luiza Nobre, disse que o legado que ele deixa é o de ser o maior compositor ibero-americano, segundo o jornal The New York Times. “O legado dele foi criar na Funarte o Projeto Espiral com filhos de funcionários em pleno regime militar. Foi preso duas vezes e, mesmo assim, voltou a fazer o projeto. A grande glória dele foi encontrar em Nova York vários meninos do Projeto Espiral fazendo doutorado na Juilliard School. Ela também foi visiting professor da Indiana Music, da Juilliard School, em Nova York e da Yale University. Um grande legado é ser tocado pelas maiores orquestras do mundo. Ele era considerado um verdadeiro gênio e queria o melhor para o Brasil na cultura”, disse a viúva.
